Bosnia 2018

Bosnia really is a fascinating country to fish in, beautiful countryside and rivers and, of course, plenty of fish to target. The fishing is enjoyable yet challenging as big trout and grayling have seen it all before but perseverance and the learning of some secret Bosnian methods will often unlock some success and maybe one or two new personal bests. I always warn anglers that due to the way that the rivers are managed, the Ribnik in particular, can be busy with anglers but there is plenty of fishing for all and always an exciting fish to target around the next bend.

It is a wonderful dry fly fishing destination with a focus on grayling but also some very large wild brown trout. We focus trips to Bosnia on two separate periods next year, May/June when they experience a hatch of large stoneflies and then again in September/October when the blue winged olive hatch.

The accommodation is basic, comfortable and adequate. It is not luxurious but when most of the time is spent on the water you will always have good food, cold beer and a comfortable bed waiting for you at the end of the day.
